An online diary about my new life in a totally new different place with different people around me.

Honeymoon July 24, 2008

Right after the wedding, we went straight ahead to San Antonio, Texas for our honeymoon for 3 nights. We both had such great time in San Antonio, not just in the hotel time (LOL), but times beyond that.

We arrived at our hotel, La Quinta Inns & Suites, at around 10 in the evening and I am still in my wedding gown and Andy on his suit. So the front desk officer, greeted us Congratulations and immediately served us coz he understood that it was our honeymoon (it was pretty obvious). We went to our room and only dumb people wouldn’t know what happened next. So much for that.

On the next day, our first day as husband and wife, I can’t remember exactly what time we woke up but we went to the lobby to have our breakfast, then went back to our room to continue some unfinished business and so much for that again. hehe. We went out to have lunch. Since we are not from San Antonio, we went for a road trip, trying to find somewhere we can eat and we ended up in McDonald’s so that we can get a discount coupon at Seaworld. That was such a nice lunch coz we talked about our lives, some of the past, sad and happy things about us, our family, and lots of things. We let our hearts out again. Then we decided to go to Riverwalk and stroll there while waiting for the right time to have our dinner date there.

BeforeĀ  we reached riverwalk, we have been going in circles not knowing that we were already there, it’s just a matter of finding the stairway to go down the riverwalk area. But finally, after an hour of going around the area, we finally made it through the riverwalk. We stroll around there, admiring the beauty of nature in the center of the city. Yes, it is a river with the malls, stores, restaurants, entertainment along it. Then we ride into the River Cruise that cost $7.00 per person (I think. I forgot), where the driver of the boat would tour us around the riverwalk while telling us all the historical backgrounds of each buildings and structures there. It was a fun ride and it’s worth the bucks that we paid.

Then we went inside the Rivercenter Mall which is the main mall of the riverwalk. While we stroll around the mall, we got tempted to watch a movie so we ended up watching Hancock, starring Will Smith. That was our first movie date here in Texas and as a couple. It was such a great movie and we enjoyed it so much. Then we I bought something from their souvenir shop, a key ring:

Then we had our picture taken on a Photo Machine (or whatever it is called..hehehe) with our big grin trademark with the San Antonio’s tourist spots as the frame.

We finally got tired and look for a restaurant to where we’ll have our dinner which would be our first dinner date as husband and wife. We settled in a steakhouse where we had a delicious steak, other foods, and drink an alcolohic beverage (you know what will happen next. duh!! it’s our HONEYMOON, remember?!). We got so full then decided to retire to our room again coz we need to have a good rest (as if!!) coz we’ll be having a long day the next day at Seaworld.

Tuesday, June 22, was our Seaworld day. We arrived there at 10:20 and it opened at 10:30am. I was very excited. We shop for sunblock and disposable cameras first. We didn’t bring our digital camera coz we’re afraid that it may get wet and damage. After putting our things on our designated locker, we just walked our way until we reached the Viva show which shows off some acrobats, dolphins, and beluga whales. I got very excited, so I took a picture of this and that and I didn’t realized that I was running out of film. After the breathtaking show, we went to ride the Ride to Atlantis to get soaked. I thought I’d gonna be dead because the long dropped that we had there. Then we went to see Shamu, the killer whale. Another breathtaking show but I got disappointed (of myself) coz I ran out of film. I knew, we can’t have another disposable camera because it cost $20.00 which is too much, that’s they make money, overpricing the things that’s gonna be necessary for us. But Andy surprised me by buying another camera coz he knows how much I wanted another one coz we still need to take picture of lots of events there. God knows how happy I am for getting another camera.

It was really hot in there so we fall in line to ride on Rio Loco to where we would ride on a log along the river that would splash here and there. We got very safe on the trip until when we’re almost done and there was a waterfall that poured down on us, so we got really soaked this time. ThenĀ  we went to the most crazy ever roller coaster ride I had in my entire life, the Great White. That was my 2nd roller coaster ride and it is the craziest of all the craziest ride I had, but I had so much fun. Andy asked me ton ride on the Steel Eel where it has a 15 storey drop. Oh no! I never wanted to be on that coaster, that long drop would really kill me.

We had our lunch then and ate Fajita which is a kind of taco, another food that I like here. Then we went to the theater to watch a 4D movie which is another crazy one coz it would splash water, blow your head, face, bottom of the chair but it was such a fun. After the movie, we watch a comedy show of the sea lions and a walrus. It was another fun show.

Finally, we’re able to relax as we deep into the pool at their Lost Lagoon Waterpark. We were not able to relaz, actually, coz we played with the waves there. That was my first time being in a pool with waves, big waves, and it was fun (how many times did I say fun in this post?lol). After being so wet, we still manage our way to the 2nd movie with 4D effects again, then we almost ran our way to get a nice seat for the Sea Lion show. It was one of their best shows of the day, actually for the whole year coz this years’ the 20th birthday of Seaworld San Antonio. Then this time, we really ran our way to get another nice seat on the Shamu Rocks show where Shamu, the killer whale performed for a more amazing show.

It was such a long tiring day, but before we left Seaworld, we made sure to get a souvenir, we had a Seaworld picture frame where dolphins are all around the frame. Then we stopped by Chili’s on our way home for another dinner date, we drink again. LOL. So, that concluded our tuesday as we travel our way back to our hotel.

Then Wednesday is the last day of our honeymoon. We ate breakfast, go back to our room and cuddle and traveled for 2 hours back to Austin.

It was such an unforgettable moment coz aside from it’s honeymoon, I experienced lost of first times there and it all meant a lot to me. I am now hoping to go back to Seaworld with Abi then. :-)
